I started doing the Cyclocross practices at River Road Country Club and must have gotten Mark Luking's attention because then he threw me a kit to wear before my first Cyclocross race at Fishermen's Park in 2008. Ever since I've been hooked.

I first started racing bikes for the University of Kentucky. I did one citizens race and then a 4/5 crit and I couldn't get enough! I have been racing ever since and loving every minute of it. Cycling allows me to keep my competitve juices flowing and stay in shape. I used to be a runner but after I found cycling there has been no turning back!

I bought my first road bike in 2001 with some tax returns. Then I got into Mountain Biking and loved it even more than the road! I've raced since 2003 on the road, trails, and 'cross. I am excited to join a team with some great women on it and am looking forward to the 2010 season! I graduated from UK in 2005, and Kevin (Texas Roadhouse Team) and I got married in 2008. We don't have any kids (yet).

I did a lot of long-distance riding during high school and college years, but life took over and the bike waited patiently for twenty years. After being diagnosed with cancer in 2007, I decided to take care of myself and rekindled the cycling flame. After many outings with the LBC, I discovered that I really liked the speed and excitement of racing and was given the chance to join BC/TL as a racer.

I like that invincible feeling of super-fitness. I live for those moments where the body says "no," but the mind pushes on. I long for the simplicity of turning pedals and moving forward.

Raced a whole bunch then got a job as Event Director for Philly Week, San Francisco Grand Prix and the New York City Cycling Championship and found out that working in professional bike racing means you race your own bike less. Became a Partner/Owner of the USGP of Cyclocross in 2006 and realized that working crazy hours during cross season means that I can race more road! Yippee. Moved to Louisville in April 2009 because the Websters tricked me into believing that the weather is warmer in Louisville than upstate New York. Blame them!

I started riding in 2001 for fitness, but the birth of my son in 2005 and the process of Ph.D. work derailed my attempts. I started riding again in 2007 and lost 152 lbs in the process over 9 months.

Started commuting by bike several years ago, then doing club rides, then racing. I'm not opposed to using motorized vehicles to go fast, but there is just something about going fast under your own effort/power. Cycling is smooth and graceful, like sailing ... only a whole lot more work.
