Snow, ice, 20 degree temps nor frozen tundra will keep the comitted 'cross racer away from a double points series finale. Twenty-One BikeClicks/Team Louisville riders braved the frigid temps on Sunday and headed up to the OVCX 2008 cyclocross series finale to race the Brookside Cup in Indianapolis. A post on the OVCX forum on BikeClicks posted the following "official report" the night before the race:

According to the race reports on the team site, it was indeed cold, there was plenty of snow and ice; and it was indeed a great time. Michael Seiler, who raced his 5th race of the series, said on the team forum: Despite the frozen tundra of Brookside Park, we had a big contingency and lots of vocal fans. ...The course was exciting and stressful and seemed to change with each lap. Turns that were safe on one lap were treacherous the next. Luckily the feeling in my hands returned on lap 3 and I felt like I could actually brake. Most laps it was more of an aim straight and go fast.
Michael's race tactics of aiming straight and going fast worked in his favor seeing as he won his second race in a row, as well as securing the win for the entire series! Steven Webster wasn't far behind, finishing the race in 3rd place, and securing an overall 3rd place finish for the series. Cat 3 racer Chris Nevitt finshed 2nd in the overall series, and Teri Meek kept her undefeated first place spot to lock up the overall win for the women's 3/4. Christina Halioris represented the 35+ women with a 3rd place overall spot on the podium.
As you can see from the Men's 35+ race participants, BikeClicks/Team Louisville was a major presence - Every race roster all season looked much like this one, with BikeClicks/Team Louisville all over the place!

This huge presence meant that BikeClicks/Team Louisville had five top 3 overall series finishes - this is quite significant for the new team in blue. No other team had as many people on the final podium! Overall results can be seen here, below are the top ten overall finishes: (* indicates a top 3 podium finish, pictured below - missing from one photo is Michael Seiler)
